Contrived at the rear of the dining room, a double door opened, and I entered a room whose dimensions equaled the one I had just left.
CWPM It was a library. Tall, black—rosewood bookcases, inlaid with copper work, held on their wide shelves a large number of uniformly bound books. These furnishings followed the contours of the room, their lower parts leading to huge couches upholstered in maroon leather and curved for maximum comfort.
Light, movable reading stands, which could be pushed away or pulled near as desired, allowed books to be positioned on them for easy study. In the center stood a huge table covered with pamphlets, among which some newspapers, long out of date, were visible. Electric light flooded this whole harmonious totality, falling from four frosted half globes set in the scrollwork of the ceiling. I stared in genuine wonderment at this room so ingeniously laid out, and I couldn't believe my eyes.
You own 6, or 7, volumes here. They're my sole remaining ties with dry land. That day I purchased my last volumes, my last pamphlets, my last newspapers, and ever since I've chosen to believe that humanity no longer thinks or writes.
In any event, professor, these books are at your disposal, and you may use them freely. I thanked Captain Nemo and approached the shelves of this library. Written in every language, books on science, ethics, and literature were there in abundance, but I didn't see a single work on economics—they seemed to be strictly banned on board.
Pamphlets were being distributed all over campus. The scuba diver submerged and did not return to the surface for several minutes. The Story of Doctor Dolittle. The Straw, the Coal, and the Bean. Treasure Island. Snow-White and Rose-Red. The Wind in the Willows.Grade 7. Contact Info.
It is widely accepted within the educational system that a students' ability to perform higher level math depends upon their ability to do basic math quickly. Students are tested for their math fluency as part of the District Assessment program. The data collected from the assessments help us make decisions throughout the school year as to leveled placements we make for our students in a portion of our everyday math program. When tested, students are given 8 minutes to accurately complete as many problems as they can within the time allowed.
Part of the Grade 7 strategy to improve student fluency performance is to utilize probes that are not used for official testing as a practice tool. If one is listed as a homework assignment on our calendar and your student gets home without a copy, you can select it from those listed below and print it off. Additionally, we encourage students and parents alike to download and print off any of them to do as practice at home anytime.
Just remember to time them 8 minutes maximum. After the time expires, correct what they did and have them complete the remaining problems if any. No calculators allowed on these assignments.

Normative data were collected in —14 on a combination of fluency measures that are sensitive to growth as well as new standards-based assessments of classroom skills.
The resulting scores and reports inform instruction and help improve student performance. Once testing is complete, summary and detailed reports for students, classrooms, and districts can be generated immediately. Alternate-form reliability, where equivalent forms are administered close together in time, is highly appropriate for progress monitoring CBM measures because it shows the consistency of scores from independently timed administrations with different content.
Internal consistency reliability is not appropriate for speeded CBM measures. The stability coefficient, where equivalent forms are administered with an interval of several months, reflects additional measurement error due to true change over time. As a result, these reliabilities are generally lower. The alternate-form stability coefficient is based on correlations between fall-winter and winter-spring benchmark scores.
Describe the sample characteristics for each reliability analysis conducted:. The concurrent alternate-form reliability sample is based on 10 schools from across the U. Participating schools administered the alternate forms to all Kindergarten students in the school, with few exceptions for moderate to severe intellectual disabilities.
Each student completed 2 of 3 alternate forms with forms administered in pairs: 1,2; 1,3; and 2, 3. The number of students completing each pair ranged from 90— Describe the analysis procedures for each reported type of reliability:.
Describe and justify the criterion measures used to demonstrate validity:. However, unlike LWSF which measures the students fluency and proficiency saying letter sounds and decoding CVC words, WRF measures fluency and proficiency with wide range of sight words.
Moreover, the validity coefficients reported are based on the initial administration of each measure in the aimswebPlus benchmark system.Reading Passage Generator. Maze Passage Generator.
